Asha Bhosle is an Indian female playback singer and vocalist. She was born on 8 September 1933 in Sangli, Sangli State, British India. Asha Bhosle mainly sang Hindi movie songs. She is the sister of Indian popular playback singer Lata Mangeshkar. Asha Bhosle made her singing debut with the song “Saawan Aaya” in the Marathi film Chunariya (1948) and her Marathi singing debut with the song “Chala Chala Nav Bala” in the movie Majha Bal (1943). She has received many Filmfare Best Female Playback Awards, Special Awards, Lifetime Achievement Awards, National Film Awards, and IIFA Awards.
