Sushma Swaraj is an Indian politician. She was born on 14 February 1952 in Ambala Cantonment, Punjab, India (now in Haryana, India). She is the senior leader and former president of a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Sushma Swaraj is also the former Supreme Court lawyer. She studied for a bachelor’s degree in Sanskrit and political science at Santan Dharma College, Kurukshetra University, and Punjab University. She started her political career in 1970 with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, and then she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and became the national leader of this party. She has been serving as the Minister of External Affairs of India since May 2014. Sushma Swaraj is the second woman to hold office after the famous late politician Indira Gandhi.
