About Uttarakhand State Government

The Government of Uttarakhand is the subnational government of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It consists of an executive branch, led by the Governor of Uttarakhand, a legislative branch led by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, and a judiciary branch, led by the Chief Justice of Uttarakhand.

The Governor of Uttarakhand is appointed by the President of India on the advice of the Union Government of India. The Governor is the constitutional head of the state and holds the position for a term of five years. The Governor has the power to appoint the Chief Minister and other ministers, dissolve the Legislative Assembly, and approve or veto bills passed by the assembly.

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand is the head of government and is vested with most of the executive powers.
